The store name "Shoran Japan"
"Shoran (笑欒)" comes from a simple concept.
"笑(sho)" is a Japanese term for laughter while "欒(ran)” refers to a joyful gathering among family and friends filled with conversation and laughter.
We are passionate about creating an environment where family and friends can get together and enjoy a wide variety of fun Japanese events and meals at home. We believe that having a good laugh, eating healthy and enjoying the moment with your loved ones are some of the most important ways in life to keep you happy and healthy inside and out.

Who we are
Shoran Japan first began in 2021 with a mother of a 3 year old son longing to start her own home business.
Before her first son was born, the owner, Rieko Hanashima, spent 15 years as a concierge at a global hotel chain. During this time Rieko began to see how quickly the level of interest, passion, and knowledge of Japanese food and products were rising among overseas guests. Seeing an opportunity to share her country’s food and culture with the world, Rieko wants to expand the spirit of Japan to your home and hopes to share unique and fun activities with you and your loved ones along the way. There is so much our wonderful culture has to offer!
